Our Holistic Approach to Treating Headaches and Migraines

John Son • June 6, 2024

Headaches and migraines often reduce quality of life for many. Luckily, at Rosedale Wellness Centre, we adopt a holistic approach to pain relief, which goes far beyond treating the symptoms. Here's how we do it.

The Root Cause

Our first step is to diagnose the origin of a headache or migraine. Sometimes the pain originates from the neck, in which case it's known as a cervicogenic headache. Studies show that up to 18% of people who have chronic headaches might be experiencing this type. If the root cause is muscular tension or stress, it can result in tension headaches, vastly different from migraines.

Personalized Treatment Programs

Once we've understood the root cause, Rosedale Wellness Centre's trained therapists develop a personalized treatment program. You can be assured that each treatment is designed keeping your unique case, needs, and comfort at the forefront.

Comprehensive Range of Methods

Every individual responds differently to various treatment methods. Our therapists use different techniques for the treatment, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, kinesiology taping, joint mobilization and more to provide pain relief and facilitate healing.

Physiotherapy for Pain Relief

Physiotherapy is one of the essential tools in our arsenal when treating headaches and migraines. It works by alleviating stress and tension in the neck and improving posture, both of which can contribute to headaches and migraines.

Providing Long-Term Relief

Our primary aim is to provide long-term and sustainable pain relief to those dealing with headaches and migraines. Through education and lifestyle advice, we empower you to better understand your body and make decisions that promote well-being in the long run.

Mind-Body Connection

We understand that the mind and body are interconnected, and stress, anxiety or depression can cause or exacerbate headaches and migraines. Therefore, we integrate mental health into our treatment programs. Our wellness center offers a supportive and comfortable environment conducive to relaxation and healing.

Preventive Measures

Prevention is always better than a cure. We provide ergonomic training to help the body endure daily routines without injury and prevent recurrence of headaches and migraines. Strengthening exercises improve posture; relaxation exercises reduce stress; a chiropractic adjustment can align your spine and nervous system, all contributing to preventing headaches and migraines.

At Rosedale Wellness Centre, we believe in an integrated approach to wellness and this extends to the relief of headaches and migraines. Our goal is to help you regain control of your life and live without pain. You deserve to lead a happy, balanced, and healthy life, and we’re here to help you achieve this.
